The smooth, classy runner built on a terrific pre-season last year to make his senior debut, showing enough to suggest he has a long career ahead of him. Amon played seven games, coming off the wing and floating forward to hit the scoreboard. He is fast and has great skills and a solid endurance base, but as a young and emerging player he will be looking for more improvement.
Amon looked at home at SANFL league level in 2014, producing consistent performances across the season. No doubt, however, about his best game, which was in Round 13 against North Adelaide when he had 21 disposals, 10 marks and 4 goals. The promising left-footer will be pushing for AFL selection in 2015 having been an emergency twice in 2014.
Amon's strong SANFL form was rewarded with an AFL debut in Round 7. Despite a disappointing loss, he was a shining light for the Power, coming on as a sub in the third quarter and racking up nine disposals and a goal. Moved between AFL and SANFL level all year, but a 16-disposal, three-goal game in the wet at Carrara in Round 22 showed what Amon is capable of.
