Player Bio

Recruited to Port Adelaide in a deal with West Coast during the 2012 post-season period, Stevenson is a strongly built running defender who was instrumental in Claremont’s 2012 WAFL premiership tilt. Possessing a quality kick and good footy smarts, the West Australian sat just outside the Eagles’ best 22 after being unable to crack its all-star defensive line up.

Background

  • Stevenson was drafted to West Coast from Claremont with pick 12 in the 2008 Rookie Draft and elevated to its senior list in 2010.
  • He was traded to Port Adelaide for pick 88.

Season by Season

  • Stevenson was unable to crack the Eagles’ best 22 with its mature back six helping to guide it to a semi finals berth.
  • He played out the season in the WAFL with premiership winners Claremont and was listed several times as an emergency for the Eagles.
  • He would provide Claremont with a strong rebounding half back presence and play in its grand final team.

  • After playing ten games on debut in 2010, Stevenson was unable to break into the Eagles team amidst its sharp rise from wooden spoon that year to a top four finisher in 2011.
  • He had strong form for WAFL side Claremont and played as a dashing half-backman as he constructively built the defensive aspects of his game.
  • Elevated from the rookie list, Stevenson made his senior debut against Sydney.
  • Playing ten games in the Eagles side despite a hip injury, he had impressive states against Melbourne, Richhmond, Essendon and Fremantle.

Season by Season

Stevenson debuted for Port Adelaide against the Melbourne Demons in Round 1 and played in the opening rounds of the season before being dropped to SANFL affiliate Norwood.

Returning for one game at the end of the year - the club's historic finale at Football Park - Stevenson would be squeezed out of the Power's lineup for the AFL finals.

He played in Norwood's 2013 SANFL premiership side.
