Capable of playing in defence and up forward, Salter has struggled through injury in the past few seasons. An important swtich player under coaches Mark Williams and Matthew Primus, Salter’s role under the club’s new coach will become apparent as he recovers from the multiple stress fractures in his foot that has limited this talented player’s game time.

Background

  • Salter was drafted from Woodville West Torrens with Pick 15 in the 2008 Rookie Draft and was elevated to the senior list that same year.

Season By Season

Season By Season

  • Having put in a good showing during the pre-season on-track and on-field, another stress fracture sustained at Encounter Bay against Fremantle kept Salts out of action for the season as he battled to come back into consistent form.
  • Salter suffered a stress fracture in his foot which limited him to only six games in 2011.
  • When on the field he was a classy defender and was rarely beaten.
  • An excellent kick and good decision maker, he changed his shape physically to be better built as an AFL player.
  • Regularly kicking bags of goals for the Eagles in the SANFL, Salter was employed as a critical ‘switch’ player coming out of defence for the Power.
  • Playing this role he was able to cement a place in the team in the latter stage of 2010.
