Made full-back his own last year after Darryl Wakelin’s retirement, winning the round 22 NAB AFL Rising Star nomination and finishing fifth in the best and fairest. A hard-checking defender, but also attacks when the opportunity presents, finishing fifth at Port for rebound 50s. Not 22 until April, he should hold down the key defensive post for years to come.

Draft history: 2005 NAB AFL Draft 3rd round selection (Port Adelaide) No. 44 overall.
