A persistent shoulder injury unfortunately curtailed the classy midfielder last season. Salopek, whose ability to read the play and deliver the ball efficiently was on display on the first half of 2010, suffered a dislocated shoulder in Round 10 against Richmond. Despite playing through the pain for several weeks, he finally succumbed to the injury after Round 15 undergoing his fourth shoulder reconstruction. At the end of the season Salopek re-signed with the club and will be looking for a clean bill of health in 2011.

Draft history: 2002 National AFL Draft 1st round selection (Port Adelaide) No. 6 overall on-traded by Hawthorn to St Kilda for Barry Brooks.
