Recent Achievements
Power of Dreams undertakes fundraising activities and distributes proceeds to a diverse range of charities, charitable projects and individuals. Power of Dreams pays no salaries, no administrative fees and no overheads and all funds go directly to the nominated charities and projects.
Since its inception in 2009 we have donated over $83,000 to some of the following recipients:
Starlight Foundation - $7,869 granted Katie’s Starlight Wish of swimming with dolphins at Seaworld. Katie became very ill with Guillian Barre syndrome. The whole family had an amazing experience “It’s been a fabulous break for us all. We really don’t know how we will ever tank you for all that you’ve done but we will forever be in your debt”. Katie is now on her way to a full recovery.
RSL - $4,670 was raised to be used towards general welfare and commemoration activities.
Flinders Medical Centre - $10,000 in sponsorship of Danny Leverink’s bike ride to raise funds for a new echocardiography machine in the Neonatal ward
Variety - $28,000 towards the provision of a Sunshine coach for St Ann’s Special School
SCOSA - $12,000 as part of the Power of Dreams project we have joined forces with Perks Integrated Business Solutions. For every goal that the Power kicks at AAMI Stadium this year, Perks will donate $100 to SCOSA, Spastic Centres of South Australia.
Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal - $2,074
Australian Red Cross Bushfire Appeal - $19,977 to help individuals and communities recover from the Victorian Bushfires
Harbour Town - $1400 was raised with the Power Through Harbour Town for the Starlight Foundation
