SHAUN Burgoyne has had surgery on his troublesome knee and is likely to miss another three or four weeks of football.
The club put out the following statement on Tuesday…
Following persistent soreness, Shaun Burgoyne this morning had minor surgery on his left knee, with some damage to the surface of a joint repaired.
The surgery revealed no ligament or major structural damage. Shaun is expected to miss a further 3-4 weeks.
Burgoyne last played in the Power’s Round 3 win over Melbourne before being a late withdrawal from the clash with Hawthorn in Round 4.
Shaun will miss Saturday night's Balfour's Showdown, followed by the clash with North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium and the home match against Richmond. He could be available for the Round 9 match against the Swans at the SCG. The Power faces Collingwood in Round 10 at the MCG.
