The Starlight team was out in force at the Round 6 (2009) Showdown and raised $7586 at the gates which was a terrific amount. This enabled Power of Dreams to be the sponsor for Katie's wish of travelling to Queensland and swimming with the dolphins. Katie's family are huge Power supporters and here is a section of what they wrote in an email:
"Showdown ticked all the boxes on Katie's Wish List...a Power win, visit to the rooms, awarding the medal to a loved player, new guernsey, getting onto the ground during a match etc. In fact, it was a bit of a buzz for Jeff and I too - so much so that we forgot to check our trip documents that we'd received on the night, and missed the change of flight departure to an hour earlier...and had to be fitted onto a later flight. But we got to start our holiday eventually. And yes, our holiday WAS fantastic. Katie just loved her swim, and so did "Zac", I'd say, if you go by the closed eyes when he was kissing her. She says he felt like smooth wet rubber. The Power of Dreams is such an honorable initiative of the Power, and we will be forever grateful for their support of the Starlight Children's Foundation, as well as Novita, and the other charities they've nominated."
