SAM POWELL-PEPPER has been voted by the fans as the MG MVP for his performance against the Blues, topping the votes for the second time this season.

The big-bodied midfielder/forward recorded 16 disposals and 8 contested possessions, topped off by two goals in the three-point loss to Carlton.

Additionally, his efforts further solidified his reputation as a player that brings the energy when it’s most needed.

Powell-Pepper’s first major, a long around-the-body snap, kickstarted a late third-quarter surge – the momentum of which carried on into the final term – and nearly helped Port record an upset comeback at the MCG.

His Round 5 performance shoots him to outright second place on the Fans MG MVP leader board.

Ryan Burton finished runner-up in the fans vote after notching 29 disposals, seven intercept possessions and two goals in his milestone game.
