PORT ADELAIDE defender Litonya Cockatoo-Motlap sustained a finger fracture during a training drill on Monday at Alberton Oval.

Cockatoo-Motlap underwent a successful surgery on Tuesday evening to repair the break in her ring finger on her right hand.

A timeframe for the 19-year-old to return to training will be determined after her follow-up appointment with the surgeon in two weeks' time.

Port Adelaide will begin its NAB AFLW season on Saturday August 27 in Perth against the West Coast Eagles.
