PORT ADELAIDE supporters have a rare opportunity to see some of the club's emerging players and AFL stars in action when the Magpies senior team hosts North Adelaide in the final trial game leading up to the 2014 SANFL IGA League opener.

Commencing at 6:00pm on Friday night, the match will double as former Magpies coach Ken McGregor's return to Alberton - now as the head of the Roosters.

Garry Hocking's Magpies have been undefeated, albeit in trial games, throughout the pre-season campaign.

He called on Port Adelaide supporters to get to Alberton for a rare night football opportunity.

"We don't get to play night footy at Alberton in season and you can't get into many night games for free, so it would be good to have as many supporters as we can out to see us in action," Hocking told portadelaidefc.com.au.

"We play Norwood on the following Thursday under lights at the Parade, so we'll be using this as our last proper hit out before the season starts."

Action at Alberton commences at 6:00pm, but there will be no curtain-raiser with the club's Academy side kicking off its 2014 reserves season campaign against the Roosters at Alberton on Sunday afternoon.

The Port Club's dining and Alberton Oval kiosk facilities will be open on Friday night.
