Port Adelaide is poised to welcome Chad Wingard and Campbell Heath back to playing duties with the pair slated for assessment this week.

Wingard injured his ankle against North Melbourne in Round 3 and missed Saturday’s comprehensive win over the Brisbane Lions.

Heath finally appears ready to return through the SANFL after battling a persistent shin problem.

“Campbell’s been training with the group for the best part of two weeks and we think he’ll be a real chance to play this week,” high performance manager Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

Angus Monfries has been given a revised return target of up to a fortnight from his hamstring injury.

That would keep him in line to play either Geelong or the GWS Giants, according to Burgess.

“Gus is progressing well and should be back training early next week,” he said.

“We’ll just take it from there as to whether he’s available for the Geelong game or the GWS game.”

Mason Shaw and Sam Russell continue to progress through their injuries but Jarrad Redden remains a week-to-week proposition.

The ruckman is now between five and six weeks away from playing according the Burgess, which would have him return after the AFL bye in mid-May.

“Reddo’s is one of the more serious knee issues you can have,” Burgess said.

“Each week we just evaluate and see where he’s at, so we think he’s between four and six weeks depending on where he’s at.

“I’d say that sometime around the bye is when he could be back.”

While the Power reported no injuries from Sunday’s game, AFL-listed Karl Amon will have scans on an injured ankle sustained playing for the Magpies against Glenelg on Sunday.

Both played the game out but will require further evaluation leading into Monday’s game against the Eagles.

Louis Sharrad also left the ground during the League match after injuring his ankle and will undergo scans on Monday.

“Obviously it was a great win, but we did come away with a few injuries,” King told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“Angus and Robbie will be assessed by the physio this week so we’ll need to wait until we get an update there, but both did play the rest of their games out.

“Louis will have a scan today and we should have a bit more information later in the week.”
