JACK HOMBSCH should return to Port Adelaide’s line-up this week, leaving the door open for changes after the Power’s disappointing loss to Richmond in Round 15.

The upcoming game against the West Coast Eagles will be a big test for the Power on the run to the end of the minor round

Jared Polec and Matthew Broadbent successfully returned from injury last week, while Jake Neade was a late replacement for Hombsch.

He might be an omission given Hombsch’s availability this week, although the loss to the Tigers might open the door for more changes.

While the Magpies lost to Woodville-West Torrens last week, the consistent form of several runners might result in further changes being made.

Joe Atley was Port’s best senior player, while rookies Cam Hewett and Jarrod Lienert were also among the more consistent members of the Magpies’ side.

Brett Eddy has also been canvassed as a potential recall on the back of several solid weeks up forward.

Port Adelaide's selection will take place at 5.50pm ACDT on Thursday 6 July.

West Coast

Three big names might return for West Coast this weekend.

Josh Kennedy, Matt Priddis and Shannon Hurn are all in contention to return from injury – unfortunately for Port, possible returnees for the Eagles don’t get much more challenging that this trio.

AFL Media also reports Mark LeCras and Will Schofield (hip), Josh Hill (illness) and Jackson Nelson (hamstring) are also a chance to return.

There are some vacancies to replace from the Eagles’ winning Round 15 side, too, with Sharrod Wellingham in doubt with a hip and Sam Butler aggravating a hamstring in the victory.

Port Adelaide plays West Coast at 2.40pm AWST on Sunday 9 July.
