Today, midfielder Brad Ebert shares some inside knowledge about his experiences in Shanghai.

What is your favourite memory from your time in Shanghai? Playing and winning the first game in Shanghai. Knowing how much time and energy the club put into this game, and the overall China strategy, it was great to be able to win. It was only a week after my wife gave birth to Leo, our first son, so I left for the game late and only had two nights on the ground in Shanghai, which added to the excitement. It was a bonus to win the inaugural Shanghai Medal as the best player in that game.

Favourite place to get a coffee in Shanghai? There was a trendy cafe around the corner from the Ritz-Carlton where we were staying. It’s called Lanna coffee. It is only a small place in a back street but it has a pretty cool atmosphere.

Something you’d recommend to other people visiting Shanghai/China: Visit the bund at night. The skyline is amazing and there are people everywhere taking in the atmosphere and view.

What is your go-to Chinese dish? My go-to dish would be chicken and prawn steamed dumplings.
