PORT ADELAIDE forward Todd Marshall has been offered a fine by the AFL Match Review Officer over an incident involving North Melbourne defender Sam Wright during the pre-season game at Alberton Oval at the weekend.

Marshall has been charged with engaging in rough conduct during the second quarter of the Power’s 21-point JLT Community Series win over the Kangaroos on Saturday.

The 20-year-old’s actions were assessed to be careless conduct with low impact to the head. The incident has been classified as a $3000 sanction but he can accept a $2000 fine with an early plea.

The Power’s Round 1 opponent, Melbourne has also featured in the Match Review Officer’s report with three key players receiving sanctions.

New defender Steven May has been offered a one-game ban after being charged with engaging in rough conduct against Jarrod Berry in the last quarter of the Demons’ JLT2 game against the Brisbane Lions.

Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Careless Conduct with Medium Impact to the Head.

Aaron vandenBerg is facing two charges arising out of the same game with a striking charge against Lion Lachie Neale attracting a $2000 sanction and a charge of making careless contact with umpire David Harris costing him $1000 with an early plea.

Star midfielder Clayton Oliver was also charged with striking, for his hit on Lion Jarryd Lyons in the last quarter of the match at Casey Fields.

He can accept a $1500 sanction with an early plea and will be free to face the Power at the MCG on March 23.
