PORT ADELAIDE ruckman Scott Lycett will play against his former teammates for the first time when Port clash with West Coast at Optus Stadium in a Good Friday blockbuster.

Lycett was part of the Eagles’ 2018 premiership, and says there are no hard feelings with his former teammates and coaches.

“I do have a lot of love for the people over there,” Lycett said at a press conference on Wednesday morning.

“It will be a weird feeling.

“I have some good friendships and bonds with the guys there, not just the players, but the staff and supporters as well.

“I am sure it will be even weirder when I do run out there on Friday night.”

Lycett - who came to Alberton as a restricted free agent in November - says he isn’t sure what response he will receive from the hostile Perth crowd.

“I’m not sure whether they will boo or cheer,” he said.

“But everyone who pays for a ticket has the right to cheer or boo or do whatever they want to do.

“I’ll cop whatever comes. If they do want to boo, there is no hard feelings.”

The former Eagle says while he and Paddy Ryder are working reasonably well in the ruck together, they are still working out the perfect balance of ruck and forward duties.

“It is still a work in progress,” the 26-year-old said.

“We started the year well and we’re still working through a couple of things.

“We changed it against Brisbane and that is the beauty of playing two rucks, we can do the unexpected.

“Who knows what is going to happen this week? That is something they will have to plan for.”

Port has only had a six-day break between last week’s loss to Richmond and Friday’s huge clash with the Eagles but Lycett says that is a good thing for the club.

“A six-day break coming off a loss I enjoy,” he said.

“There is less time for (the media) to talk about the game and less time for us guys to think about the game before.”

The Eagles host the Power at Optus Stadium on Good Friday with the final teams to be announced on Thursday evening.
