Travis Boak on the management of players during training:

“Obviously it’s pretty late in the season. There is a bit of management that is going on at the moment.

“There were a few guys who just went back to the club and did some training off legs. At this stage, there is no issues with those boys.

“They will be right for the weekend. Just managed today.

Boak on some possible changes at the selection table this week:

“You definitely have to look at some changes.

“It was a really poor performance as a collective. I think we will make a few changes on that performance.

“On top of that, the SANFL form has been outstanding. There are some guys in some really good nick.

“When you’ve got that, you’ve got to bring in guys who are in good form.

Boak on reviewing the North Melbourne game:

“That one hurt a lot.

“Coming in Monday and watching some of it back, it was really, really disappointing. In saying that, you’ve got to move on pretty quickly.

“We have another really important game this weekend. We’ve moved on from the North game - felt the hurt, watched it back, learnt a lot, now moved on.

Boak on the preparation for the North game:

“It’s a tough one to explain.

“It was disappointing. It hurts, and we are hurting just as much as they (the supporters) are, there’s no doubt about that.

“We prepared as best we could. We did everything we could during the week. We knew it was an important game, and to turn up like that was so disappointing.

“The only thing we can do now is go out there this Sunday and put in a better performance.

Boak on the importance of this weekend’s game against Fremantle:

“We have to go out there and put in a good performance, whether we are going to play finals or not.

“Every game is still important for our playing group, ours fans, our club. So, we are going out there no matter what and playing the way we want to play.

“And obviously bounce back from a disappointing performance.

Boak on being frustrated by inconsistent performances:

“External expectations don’t really mean that much to us.

“Our expectations of ourselves - we think we are a really good side, and I don’t think we have at times this year performed to the level we needed to.

“That has showed in the inconsistency in some of our results, so that’s been disappointing.

“We’ve put in some really good performances, and that shows we are a really good group. There is still some stuff we need to work on consistently to become a really good side.

“We get another chance this weekend to put in a really good performance.

Boak defending Ken Hinkley:

“That’s the nature of footy, coaches cop too much at times.

“A lot of it falls on their shoulders. They aren’t playing the game. It is disappointing that Ken cops so much.

“He is a very, very strong person and a great leader of our group. We’ve got to go out there and play as a whole, and he’s a part of that.

Boak on the belief in the group moving forward:

“We still have a lot of belief in what we are doing.

“I think we’ve made some big strides this year. We will go out there on the weekend knowing that what we are doing, and what we’ve been able to progress this year with is still pretty special.

“We go out there to play for each other, for our footy club and for our jumper. Sometimes the results aren’t what we want.

“This weekend, we will do as best we can for each other and our footy club.
