Hamish Hartlett on the side’s ability to move on quickly:

“Once we walk out of the review meeting, we thought what’s done is done,”

“We obviously reflect on what went wrong and go about making amends for that, but our focus is now on Fremantle.”

Hartlett on reviewing the North Melbourne game:

“Each line got together prior to the main meeting and went through a clip that represented what went wrong,”

“There were various things from different lines, but I think our defensive actions all around the ground were so far off the mark. That’s why things panned out the way they did.

“The Kangaroos played a brand of footy that was quite spectacular as well. We can’t take anything away from them.

“But clearly all over the ground, defensively we were really poor.”

Hartlett on the lead-up to the North clash:

“We were happy with the way we were going about things the couple of weeks prior,”

“We came in with a real confidence that all the pieces of the puzzle were starting to fit together nicely.

“In no way or sense have we taken the foot off the pedal throughout the week. We were still training, really, really hard and preparing the right way.”

Hartlett on Hinkley’s approach around the club:

“The resilience he has shown around the place is unbelievable,”

“He comes in every week - he’s been smashed pillar to post by media, the fans and supporters - and he’s all about caring for the team.

“He’s keeping us together and united as a group. He’s making sure we stick together and we are great people off the field.

Hartlett on the expectations of the group:

“We understand our people want to see results on-field,”

“And the history we have in the past is really difficult to live up to these days. And we understand they are really high standards.

“It’s a huge year for the footy club next year, and it would really hurt us as a playing group if Kenny wasn’t a part of it.”

Hartlett on the focus of the weekend:

“We will go into the game understanding full well where things are at,”

“We have made a point of this already this week - no matter the circumstances, whether we are capable of playing finals or not - we will go out there with the same attitude.

“We want to win every game we are a part of and that will be no different this weekend.”
