Ken Hinkley on the possible changes against Fremantle:

“Because we play Sunday we will wait until Friday night to name the team.

“There will be three or four names added to the squad - Drew, Lycett, McKenzie. We are about to go upstairs and finalise.

“Normally I’ve got some more accurate information, but we’ve only just finished training.

Hinkley on Scott Lycett’s possible return:

“It would be reasonable to think he will come back in and play.

“He’s played really well, and we’ve been selecting on merit all year and we will continue to do that.

Hinkley on Tom Clurey’s fitness:

“Tom wasn’t out there, so Tom is probably going to miss.

“Tom has a sore foot and he is probably not going to play. Again, we will have to go through all of that and I will have to get all of the medical information.

“I would doubt that Tom will be out there, which gives McKenzie a chance.

Hinkley on Trent McKenzie’s form:

“He’s had an outstanding month.

“He’s played some really, really good footy, and clearly the most dominant defender in the SANFL over the last month at least. He deserves his opportunity if it comes.

“He’s been able to play as a tall and done that successfully for us all the way through this year.

Hinkley on Xavier Duursma’s fitness:

“He trained the whole session today.

“Once I get the update - I’m pretty comfortable he will be okay. But I will wait to hear that news from the doctor.

Hinkley on the challenges of Fremantle and their change in coach:

“It’s the unexpected now, that’s what happens.

“We’ve seen it all year - it’s been a bit volatile in the coaching ranks - and we expect a little bit of the unexpected from them.

“Typically, what’s happened this year with the sides who have made that move, they come out with a bit more freedom.

“Our challenge is to make sure we don’t give them that space to take the game on. They have some high-quality players, and we know how good they can be.

Hinkley on the media scrutiny after last weekend’s loss:

“Challenging like every week, but particularly after a really poor performance.

“We haven’t hidden away from the fact that it was a really poor performance. We get an opportunity to respond to that on Sunday as best as we possibly can.

“It’s always difficult when you set yourself up to be in a good position and then you play a really poor game.

“That’s the challenge of being involved in this industry.

Hinkley on his contract speculation:

“It was in relation to the question about the finals clause in my contract.

“If I don’t make finals in the near future - and that’s not next week or the week after - it’s part of what I have to deal with. If you’re not making finals then you are running a risk as a coach, I get that.

“There are a couple of things that are really clear in my mind. We have put together a list that gives us a great opportunity moving forward.

“Now, whether I get the opportunity to see that through is the challenge, for us as a team and for me as a coach.

Hinkley on the connection of the club:

“This team is really connected, there is no problems with the connection of this team.

“Between the players and all of the coaches - not just me - we have really stuck the course and we’ve stuck the journey. I proud of that, really proud.

“We have an opportunity on Sunday - and I want to focus on that. The importance of Sunday is really important for us and the way we want to play.

“Regardless of what happens by the time the game starts, I want us to play the right way on Sunday.
