Cam Sutcliffe on the lead up to the grand final:

“I’m pretty excited.

“We’ve had a week to digest what happened in the semi final, and clearly that was a pretty tough game. It was a wet game, so a few of the boys were feeling sore after it.

“We will train twice this week and we will be raring to go for the grand final come Sunday.

Sutcliffe on his grand final history:

“I think I’ve played in four in my senior career.

“I won one with Peel Thunder in the WAFL, but this one is right up there with one of the ones I’m feeling most nervous about.

“I’ll just take it day by day. We will train well. And hopefully we play well on Sunday.

Matthew Lokan on supporting Port as a kid and the contests with Glenelg this year:

“Both clubs haven’t won a grand final for a long time now.

“It’s exciting to be able to play out here on Adelaide Oval against a rival in Glenelg is exciting - not only for us but I think for the competition as well.

“The game that we played in the second final was a fantastic game of footy, and I think the weekend is going to be pretty similar.

“I grew up a Port Adelaide supporter, so to be able to coach them in a grand final is pretty special from a personal point of view and for my family.

Lokan on feeling pressure from Port supporters to win a grand final:

“I think you do, regardless of when you last won a grand final.

“If you’re in a grand final, you want to win it, and we will certainly set out to do that on the weekend.

Lokan on the nature movement in the football landscape:

“I haven’t really thought about it to be honest.

“Marlon (Motlop) has played at North Adelaide. Cam (Sutcliffe) is an Eagles junior. Stoney (Mark Stone) has come across from Fremantle. That’s the environment we work in. You do move clubs. You do move around.

“I more look at the rivalry between Port Adelaide and Glenelg. I think it’s exciting for the competition to have two strong clubs playing in it.

“We can’t wait until Sunday to get out there and play.

Lokan on moving on from the second semi final:

“I think we move on from that pretty quickly.

“What happened last week, happened last week. We know that both sides play tough contested ball. It is certainly one of Glenelg’s strengths, and we think it’s our strength as well.

Lokan on Glenelg:

“They are a good side - we’ve seen that all year.

“We know that their forward line is really potent. But I think it’s a game that’s going to be won in the midfield.

“Jesse White was really good against us last time we played them. It will be won and lost in the midfield.

Sutcliffe on the rivalry between Port and the Bays

“I think it’s pretty evident.

“The first game we played at Glenelg - I don’t think we had too many supporters there that day, and they smoked us.

“The second semi final against these guys was a tough day. When they got back in front, you could really feel the support for Glenelg. But when we got back in front, we could feel our support.

“Hopefully that helps us having a few more supporters on the weekend.

Sutcliffe on who is in the mix this weekend:

“It’s a really tough one.

“We have Matt Appleton playing well. Ben Edwards has been playing really good footy in the YPFL.

“We also have Marty Frederick, Kai Pudney and Riley Grundy, so there are a lot of people in the mix, but we will find out Thursday.

Lokan on the physicality both sides play with:

“It certainly wasn’t intentional for us to go after them physically.

“That’s the way both teams play - I think Mark (Stone) would say the same thing. Glenelg are physically tough.

“Guys like Matt Snook and Brad Agnew through the midfield, are as tough as they come. We know we have to be really strong in that area to be able to compete with them.

Lokan on who may replace Aidyn Johnson:

“The rules say we can only replace Aidyn (Johnson) with a listed player.

“We will bring in one of those three that are available, and then we will make a decision on whether we make a change outside of that.

Sutcliffe on Trent McKenzie:

“He’s been a barometer for us in defence.

“He played a really good role on (Liam) McBean in the semi final, and played really well against Adelaide in that first final.

“He’s put the performances together to maybe warrant a new contract, but I guess that will all get sorted out in time.
