PORT ADELAIDE has told midfielders Jack Trengove, Cam Hewett and Kai Pudney that their contracts will not be renewed for 2020.

Trengove joined the Power as a delisted free agent in the 2017 trade period from Melbourne, where he was previously the Demons' co-captain.

In his first year at Alberton, Trengove impressed in the SANFL winning the runner-up Best and Fairest award to go with the Anthony Williams Award as the most courageous player.

The 28-year-old played three games in the AFL side in 2018 but failed to add to his 89 career games in 2019, instead adding valuable experience to a young Port Adelaide SANFL side.

Hewett has played 64 SANFL games for the club, including all 21 in 2019, since being taken in the 2016 rookie draft at pick 28.

The 22-year-old averaged 16 disposals and five marks per game this season but wasn’t able to break through for an AFL debut in his third year on the club’s rookie list.

Pudney arrived at Alberton as a Category B rookie from the club’s Multicultural Next Generation Academy at the end of 2018.

The 19-year-old featured in 15 SANFL games in 2019, averaging 22 disposals and five marks from his position on the wing.

Port Adelaide’s General Manager – Football, Chris Davies thanked each of the players for their contributions to the club.

“Jack, Cam and Kai have each represented our club with pride and professionalism,” he said.

“But we have reached the time of the year when the club needs to make difficult decisions about the future of our playing list.

“Each of the players have been popular and hardworking members of our group and we wish them well for their individual futures.”
