Key defender Tom Clurey has his hamstring assessed during Port Adelaide's Round 17 win over Essendon at Adelaide Oval.

PORT ADELAIDE defender Tom Clurey will miss Monday’s game against Collingwood after suffering a minor hamstring injury.

The defender hurt himself in the win over Essendon on Saturday evening and scans on his left hamstring have confirmed a minor strain.

He is expected to be fit to return to the side for the first week of finals.

Ryan Burton is running well as he continues his push to play in the club’s first final in a fortnight following his quad injury in last week’s win over North Melbourne.

Burton is on track with his rehabilitation and will increase his running and kicking this week.

Forward Mitch Georgiades is also nearing a return from a minor hamstring injury.

Georgiades is expected to be another pushing for selection come finals time as he ramps up his training.

The club will wait until Sunday evening before naming its side for the game against Collingwood at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Injury list

Tom Clurey – hamstring (1-2 weeks)
