A highly rated utility that can play tall or small, Lachie Jones is one of Port Adelaide’s most exciting young talents. Despite only being 21-years-old, Jones’ AFL-made body, combined with his trademark explosiveness and ferocious hunger for the ball, means he can attack the contest knowing he can take it up to just about anyone in the competition.
Laid back but confident, Jones reads the play well, can take a high mark and has a booming right foot. His rise in form was rewarded with a Rising Star nomination in mid-2022 where he recorded 16 disposals and nine score involvements – showing the damage he can do when put in the forward half. In the same year he was rewarded with the Gavin Wanganeen Award at Port Adelaide's best and fairest, awarded to the best-performing player under 21.
Showing what he can do when given the opportunity in the side's best 22, Jones is primed to continue his ascent in the coming years.
