KEY POSITION players Todd Marshall and Trent McKenzie headline a list of Port Adelaide players who will be undertaking a period of post-op rehabilitation this off-season after going under the surgeon’s knife.

Marshall had arthroscopic surgery on his right hip a fortnight ago. He will be managed through the early stages of pre-season and is expected to join in on full training after Christmas.

McKenzie’s right ankle was operated on, meaning he is likely to ease into running before his expected return for pre-season training in early December.

As is common in the off-season for some AFL players, Ryan Burton, Darcy Byrne-Jones, Jeremy Finlayson and Scott Lycett have each had minor knee clean-outs.

Sam Hayes had his left AC joint repaired and Tom McCallum underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle but both should be back running by the end of this month.

In other positive news, both Tom Clurey and Mitch Georgiades are running well after respective long-term back and knee injuries, and Josh Sinn is progressing well four weeks after his previously reported hamstring surgery.

Players are now on leave and due to return for pre-season training from November 27.

Post-season surgery list:

Burton –left knee
Byrne-Jones – right knee
Finlayson – left knee
Hayes – left AC joint
Lycett – left knee
T. Marshall – right hip
