Arriving at Alberton in a complex four-team trade, Jason Horne-Francis is one of the most promising young players in the league. A midfielder by trade, Horne-Francis is a ready-made youngster who, already in his young career, has shown tough ball-winning, defensive efforts and powerful physicality.
Hailing from South Adelaide in the SANFL, Horne-Francis made his league debut at just 17 years old and quickly took his game to new heights in his debut year at North Melbourne. In just his second year in the league, he averaged 17.7 disposals and an impressive 4.8 clearances a game. At 20 years old, it is his seemingly limitless potential that has Port fans so excited for the young talent's career at Alberton.
He was recognised by the competition's coaches at the AFL Awards, securing third place in the AFLCA's Best Young Player Award, while he also received the Gavin Wanganeen Medal as Port Adelaide's best player under-21 in 2023.
