Midfielder Will Lorenz’s name was called with pick 57, Port Adelaide’s third and final pick in the 2023 AFL National Draft. The young talent has shown versatility in the way he can play half-forward or push higher up on the ground on the wing. He was a consistent performer for the Oakleigh Chargers and Vic Metro in his draft year, playing mostly on the wing and showcasing his composure and decision-making.
Having impressed Port Adelaide recruiters with his ball use and decision-making, Lorenz joins the club with a hunger to build his craft and in time, find his place in a competitive Port Adelaide side.
The 18-year-old comes from a strong footballing family – his grandfather is Graham Arthur, who captained Hawthorn to the 1961 VFL premiership, won three best and fairests for the Hawks and is a member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame.

We also acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as the traditional custodians of Australia and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living people today.
