GARRY HOCKING has been recognised for his two seasons in charge of Port Adelaide's SANFL League team with the Bob Clayton Award.

Named after former player and long-standing football manager Bob Clayton, who passed away in 2011, the Bob Clayton Award recognises outstanding work by an individual for their work within Port Adelaide's SANFL division, the Magpies.

Hocking became the Magpies' head coach in 2014 after the club restructured its football operation to allow all of its AFL players to play for the club's traditional body in the SANFL.

More than simply coaching the team, Hocking made it his duty to lead the integration of two playing lists.

Presented by Academy coach and son of Bob Clayton, Mark, Hocking was humble upon receiving the award, saying the award was a testament to the hard work of many coaches, support staff and volunteers who collectively put the Magpies on the park each week.
