PORT ADELAIDE AFLW midfielder Jasmin Stewart will feature for Glenelg in the local competition after being picked up by the Bays in this week’s SANFLW Mini-Draft.

Stewart was claimed by Glenelg with the fourth pick in the mini draft, which allocated six local AFLW players not aligned to SANFL clubs.

Thirteen Port Adelaide players are aligned to SANFLW clubs and have been released to play for those sides for the opening five rounds before returning to Alberton for AFLW pre-season training. This will allow them to play as much state-league football as possible, while also leaving a suitable gap leading into pre-season training.

Stewart played all ten games for Port Adelaide last season, averaging 12.3 disposals and two clearances per game.

She originally came to the club from WAFL club Claremont with the second overall pick in last year’s AFLW Supplementary Draft but arrived from Perth too late to feature in the SANFLW competition.

New Port Adelaide midfield recruit Kirsty Lamb was taken by Norwood with the sixth and final selection in the mini draft but is unlikely to feature for the Redlegs.

The SANFLW season gets underway in March.
