The Port Adelaide Football Club welcomes Adelaide Casino as a new premier partner from 2013.

The announcement was made ahead of Balfours Showdown XXXIV at AAMI Stadium in Round 3 of the 2013 AFL premiership season.

Port Adelaide chief executive officer Keith Thomas thanked Adelaide Casino for its support and show of faith in the club’s direction.

“It is a very important time for Port Adelaide as we enter a new era and prepare for a fantastic future at Adelaide Oval from 2014,” Mr Thomas said.

“We are really excited to have Adelaide Casino as a partner and look forward to working together this year and into the future as we build our relationship.

“It’s a great partnership that will go from strength to strength with the incredible transformation of Adelaide, driven by the redevelopment of Adelaide Oval and the move of AFL football to the city.”

Adelaide Casino general manager David Christian said the move to support South Australia’s AFL teams was part of a wider sponsorship strategy to support and celebrate some of the best elements of our State.

“We feel the move of AFL football to Adelaide Oval next year, combined with our own plans for redevelopment, present the ideal opportunity to reinvigorate the city and foster a sense of pride throughout the state,” Mr Christian said.

“It was clear through our discussions with Port Adelaide that the club shared this sense of excitement for the future, having undertaken a significant restructure of its management and coaching team in recent months and has already experienced a strong start to the football season.”

As a premier partner of Port Adelaide, the Adelaide Casino logo will feature on the official club polo and media backdrop. Under the partnership, Adelaide Casino will also host player/coach appearances and enjoy corporate hospitality opportunities.

“We want to demonstrate our support for South Australia as it reflects the future directions of Adelaide Casino and the state,” said Mr Christian.

“Adelaide is on the brink of becoming a truly world-class destination, and we are committed to working with our neighbours in the Riverbank Precinct as well as other South Australian icons such as Port Adelaide Football Club to help achieve this.”

Adelaide Casino is the latest addition to Port Adelaide’s line-up of sponsors, joining new joint major partner Renault, fellow premier partners ISC Sport (apparel partner) and Rivergum Homes and new key partner Optimum Nutrition (supplement partner) among others.

In addition, established premier partner Envestra has expanded its commitment to the club, becoming Port Adelaide’s coaches’ sponsor from 2013.

V.I.P. continues its outstanding commitment to the club as joint major partner alongside Renault.

Foodbank SA continues as major charity partner with its Power to End Hunger campaign developed with Port Adelaide featuring on the players’ shorts in 2013. Foundation partner in the Power to End Hunger campaign, Transfield Services, has recommitted to the cause in 2013 and once again supported the Transfield Shield won by Port Adelaide over Greater Western Sydney in Round 2.

“We thank our existing and new partners – including Adelaide Casino - for their faith in the club and its future,” Mr Thomas said.

“We continue to work very hard to broaden our corporate base with a view to building lasting and successful partnerships,” Mr Thomas said.
