The Power's director of coaching and strategy Alan Richardson told portadelaidefc.com.au he was excited by the group's training intensity.
"Training was incredibly exciting today," Richardson said.
"It's a really exciting opportunity to play against Collingwood at the MCG and the players trained accordingly.
"There was incredible spirit, the energy levels were high, the ball whizzed around quickly - it was a great session."
Behind the scenes with the Power in finals week
Several previously injured players took to the field and trained well.
Hamish Hartlett completed the session as he prepares to return from suspension this week.
Hartlett has been an influential player this season for the Power and his run off half-back, combined with a lethal right foot, will make him a welcome likely inclusion.
Paul Stewart (wrist), Robbie Gray (quad tightness) and both Alipate Carlile and Kane Mitchell (back) completed the session as well as they look to prove their worthiness for selection to the coaching panel.
All appeared to move well - adding to the headache for the selectors this week as they look to accommodate experienced senior players into a young side that has exceeded on-field expectations this year.
In the Mix: Finals Week 1
Despite the upcoming final, Port Adelaide's training routine was exactly as it has been throughout the 2013 season according to Richardson.
"We certainly didn't change anything in terms of length of training and types of drills we did today," he said.
"We had a couple of opposition-specific drills that we incorporated as we do every week as well.
"It was all business as usual."
A hard-fought game beckons on Saturday and Richardson made the point of inviting out the club's supporter base to its 10:00am open training session at Alberton Oval on Friday morning.
"It would be really good for our young group, and certainly would add to the excitement of the week, to have our fans along to support them on Friday," he said.
The Power will hold an open training session at Alberton Oval on Friday morning commencing at 10:00am before travelling to Melbourne in preparation for Saturday night's final.
