Dear Members and Supporters,

The SANFL Club Directors have today agreed upon a final proposal which would enable the Port Adelaide Football Club’s non-selected AFL listed players to represent the Magpies in the SANFL from season 2014.

This proposal has been presented to Port Adelaide today for consideration.

I’m sure this issue will demand some media attention across the next few days, but I don’t intend to provide a running commentary on the matter as there is still some complex detail to be worked through and we do have a couple of important games to play on the weekend!

Given the significance of the proposal to the future of our Club, members and supporters are invited to an information session at the Club’s Indoor Facility on Monday 9 September at 5.30pm where all will be revealed!

I’d ask that you reserve judgement until then.

The Port Adelaide Football Club Board will meet on Tuesday 10 September to formally consider the proposal.

Summary
We need to consider the model carefully.

It requires us to think differently about our football program going forward.

We will be assessing it against the following criteria:
- The model must ensure all Port Adelaide players play for Port Adelaide
- The Power must have the development structure they need.
- The Magpies must remain strong and competitive
- Kids must be able to grow up and play for Port Adelaide in an elite environment
- Our community links must be retained and strengthened where possible.

Let’s get together and talk about this on Monday night.

If you can’t get to Alberton, send me your thoughts. I’m keen to hear what you think.

On Tuesday, the PAFC Board will formally consider the proposal.

Good luck to all on the weekend, and see you here on Monday.

Cheers,
KT
