Port Adelaide coaching structure changes PORT ADELAIDE has confirmed its 2014 AFL senior coaching panel following the promotion of Garry Hocking to the role of SANFL Senior Coach.

Hocking will be responsible for guiding the club’s state league team in the SANFL next year, with his acute understanding of Ken Hinkley’s AFL game plan combining with his successful football development background prior to joining the club.

His appointment to the role leaves a vacancy in the club’s assistant coaching structures as Forwards and Offense coach.

That position will be filled by former club development coach Tyson Edwards.

He will join current incumbent Matthew Nicks who will retain his role as the Power’s Backs and Defence coach.

The club has also taken the opportunity to restructure its midfield coaching unit.

Josh Carr has been promoted to the role of Midfield coach, while newly-appointed Phil Walsh will be the Power’s Midfield Manager.

Current development manager Daniel Healy and development coach Stuart Cochrane will continue to work closely developing the club’s AFL-listed players and serve as assistants to Hocking on SANFL match days.

The club is yet to fill its vacancy for the role of SANFL Academy Coach, but expects to do so by the end of the month.
