THE iconic Renault diamond badge will appear on the front of Port Adelaide's SANFL League guernsey in the 2014 season after Nailsworth-based dealership Main North Renault joined as the Magpies' second joint major partner.

Main North Renault joins EnergyAustralia as a joint major partner of the Magpies with a third to be confirmed as a result of the club's innovative Joint Major Partnership Draw to be conducted at Alberton Oval on March 8.

Go in the running to be the third joint major partner of the Magpies in our Joint Major Partnership Draw

The deal is separate to Renault Australia’s partnership with Port Adelaide in the AFL, with Main North Renault branding to adorn the front of the famous black and white prison bar guernsey, along with EnergyAustralia.

Port Adelaide chief executive officer Keith Thomas thanked Main North Renault for its commitment to the club.

“We believe having a local Renault dealership on board as a joint major partner of the Magpies is the perfect fit for our club this year,” Mr Thomas said.

“It means Renault and EnergyAustralia branding will appear on both our AFL and SANFL guernseys, but it also gives Main North Renault the opportunity to expose its own brand at suburban SANFL grounds around the city.

“I thank David Holst and his team on Main North Road for their commitment to our local football community through this partnership and encourage any businesses in the community looking to support our grassroots and junior footy programs to join our Joint Major Partner Draw and get on board with the Magpies this year.”

Main North Renault dealer principal David Holst says the decision to jump on board as a joint major partner for the Magpies was a logical decision given the success of Renault Australia’s high-profile association with the club.

“At Main North Renault, we’re all about having fun and offering great family cars that are safe and reliable - we’ve enjoyed great success through Renault Australia’s partnership with Port Adelaide and we decided it was time for us to jump on board as a dealership,” says Holst.

“Everyone knows Port Adelaide is the oldest football club in this state and one that has so many passionate followers in Adelaide and beyond and we’re really excited about being on board with the club at a dealer-level and hopefully helping the club towards its next SANFL premiership.”

The announcement of Main North Renault comes on the back of Steven Summerton being confirmed as the club's 65th captain, along with leadership group members Henry Slattery, Aseri Raikiwasa and Anthony Biemans.

The Magpies will play South Adelaide in a trial match at Alberton Oval on the morning of March 8.
