POWER defender Alipate Carlile is set to miss between two and three weeks with a hamstring injury.

The 27-year-old suffered the injury in the final minutes of Sunday’s Showdown at the Adelaide Oval, with scans on Tuesday revealing a minor hamstring strain.

Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au Carlile would be carefully managed to ensure a successful return around the time of the Power’s weekend off during the split Round 18.

“Bobby had some better news from the scans than we expected, which shows a minor hamstring strain,” Burgess said.

“We’re optimistic that he should be able to return around the bye weekend, and obviously that will depend on how his rehab goes.”

Fellow backman Jackson Trengove has also had scans to a rolled ankle suffered before half time against the Crows on Tuesday and will see a specialist on Wednesday afternoon.

He has also been ruled out from Saturday night's game.

portadelaidefc.com.au will have a more detailed update on Trengove’s injury situation on Thursday.
