PORT ADELAIDE broke another membership milestone on Monday when it signed up its 55,000th member ahead of its Round 18 match against Melbourne at the Adelaide Oval.

Membership sales continue to tick over with the club’s great value three-game membership, which allows access to the Power's final three home games against the Demons, Swans and Blues, and special offers on Magpies memberships that provide entry to the year's biggest SANFL games against the Crows and Norwood at Alberton Oval.

The night blockbusters against Sydney and Carlton are set to sell out, meaning the three-game membership remains the best value for money for supporters of the Power and its opponents to gain access to either of those games.

3,700 tickets to the Round 20 Saturday night game against Sydney sold in the first 24 hours after sales commenced on Monday - already 600 sales ahead of the record-breaking Power-Hawks crowd in Round 20.

The membership record sets a strong foundation for Port Adelaide to compete with traditional powerhouse clubs like Collingwood, Richmond, Essendon next year, with all 55,000 members to be the first to secure priority access to 2015 reserved seats at the Adelaide Oval.

Port Adelaide's general manager of member services Matthew Richardson explained that all 2014 members - including those who sign up before the end of the season - will gain priority seat access next year.

“To have 55,000 members is terrific and we sincerely thank each and every member for the important role they have played in the resurgence of Port Adelaide," says Richardson.

"It is really just the beginning though, as we continue to build and grow our membership over the next few years, so being a 2014 member will be important when it comes to securing priority access to reserved seating at the Adelaide Oval for 2015.

"We have a world-class stadium as our home, a really exciting football team that is on the up and when you combine that with the most engaged supporters and members in the AFL, it gives us a great platform for continued growth.”

There has been a noticeable shift in the demography of Port Adelaide's 2014 member base, with most new membership packages sold to families and younger people.

The club has also enjoyed an increased interest in match ticketing from around the globe.

It demonstrates the club's international appeal at a time where football is becoming increasingly popular outside of Australia.

"Port Adelaide games are seen as a really exciting and enjoyable entertainment option for families and younger people," Richardson says.

"On top of our members, there have been over 60,000 daily tickets sold to Port Adelaide games so far this season and that augers well for future membership and ticketing growth.

“In fact, we are now drawing interest from around the world with a London-based family contacting us this week wanting to buy tickets to the Round 20 game against Sydney.

"They've heard about our fantastic game day experience on the other side of the globe, and want a Port Adelaide home game at the Adelaide Oval to be their first AFL experience."

Port Adelaide's final three Adelaide Oval home games see it play Melbourne on Sunday 20 July at 12:40pm, Sydney on Saturday 9 August at 7:10pm and Carlton on Friday 22 August at 7:10pm.

Port Adelaide’s remaining SANFL home games at Alberton Oval against the Adelaide Crows on Saturday 26 July at 2:10pm and on the weekend of Saturday 16 August, likely at 2:10pm, against Norwood.
