ROBBIE Gray has moved within three votes of leader Nat Fyfe in the AFL Coaches Association Award following another strong showing in Round 21.

In tough, wet conditions, Gray looked like he was playing in the dry, finishing with the incredible stat line of 26 disposals, 20 contested, 11 inside 50s, 9 clearances and a goal.

The coaches gave Gray nine votes, moving him to 92 votes overall and within striking distance of Fyfe with two rounds to play.

Fyfe has just been offered a two-game ban for striking, meaning his tally of 95 won’t be added to, unless he successfully appeals the suspension.

Sydney’s Josh Kennedy is the only other player who can catch Fyfe and Gray. The Swans star is in doubt to play in Round 22 with a hamstring injury.
