AFL Media reporters couldn't find a spot for Ollie Wines in their best 22 players under the age of 23, but Chad Wingard managed to make a forward pocket.

Wines has played every game for the Power in 2013 and 2014 and has starred in a number of big games - including finals.

The strongly-built midfielder has well and truly avoided the second-year blues, averaging a touch under 25 disposals per game and improving his numbers in almost all the key areas.

AFL.com.au reporters did have an abundance of talent to select from and Ben Guthrie noted Wines was very unlucky to miss out.

Wingard was nearly a lock to make the team after being selected in the 2013 All-Australian team and backing his form up with another 40+ goal season.

Despite a slight mid-season dip in form, Wingard has finished the year strongly with 11 goals in the past four games.
