Hello True Believers,

Well, what a weekend this is going to be - our football club plays in two crucial finals and our supporters will spread themselves across our country’s south coast to cheer our boys on.

First thing’s first - Saturday's prelim final

Our club plays its biggest game since 2007 tomorrow afternoon at the MCG, our challenge is one of the toughest in footy – the Hawks at their home ground – and the prize is the opportunity to play on the last Saturday in September.

I must say our entire club has been overwhelmed by the show of support we’ve had from all of you during the whole finals campaign – we reckon almost 20,000 supporters will drive, fly or bus it to Melbourne today and overnight to cheer our players on.

To those of you making the journey make no mistake, your support will be so important on Saturday afternoon. We have the loudest and most passionate supporters in the league – if you hark back to last year’s elimination and semi finals, we drowned out the Collingwood and Cats supporters, and now we’ll do the same against the Hawks.

If you are driving over, make sure you follow the advice of our friends at the Motor Accident Commission and drive safely to Melbourne and back – avoid distractions, take the opportunity to stop, rest and recover and get to the ‘G and back home safely!

When you do get to Melbourne, there will be plenty to get you revved up for the game.

We’ll have the pre-game function at the Bells Hotel at 10am and then we’ll be marching from Birrarung Marr next to Fed Square to the MCG at 3pm.

Our team expects upward of 15,000 marching with us. It will be quite a sight – but just make sure you save your voice for the first bounce at 4:45!

If you’re not travelling to the game and are watching from home or anywhere away from the MCG, make sure you cheer just as loudly for the boys.

The big one - the SANFL Grand Final

You can also see our SANFL team at the Grand Final presentation at the Adelaide Oval’s Southern Plaza from 10:00am on Saturday, so make sure you show your support for the Maggies before the big day on Sunday.

Speaking of Sunday, we need a big show of force to get the boys over the line against Norwood.

I’ve got no doubts we’ll get a big showing of black and white support in the crowd, but if you are still unsure whether to go, let me persuade you – Sunday’s SANFL Grand Final should be one of the biggest days on your calendar this year.

It’s been 15 years since the Maggies last played in a Grand Final and watching the old footage of that day and seeing that typical Port Adelaide passion for our supporters, I can’t help but think of what going to the footy has been like this year at Adelaide Oval.

It’s exactly the same.

The Redlegs are a good side going for a third flag. Buddha, Summo, Tommy Logan, Youngy, Newts, Mitchy and the rest of the boys will be fighting to stop that and bring home our 37th SANFL premiership.

We need you there to help them.

David Koch and the whole board will be there in full voice, the AFL boys will be there on the back of Saturday’s AFL prelim, the Cheer Squad will be staggering off the bus hoarse from cheering the night before.

This is a game for all our faithful members and supporters to get along to and barrack harder than ever for the mighty Magpies.

Ticket sales for this year's grand final are already up 20% on the back of our people committing to the game, and Essential Power members get in free, so we think there will be a mass of support on Sunday!

Your support for all of our players and for our football club has been unbelievable this year and, for the Maggies, we’ll celebrate the day, regardless of the result, back at Alberton Oval from 6:00pm with a full team presentation and (hopefully) another premiership pennant.

Let’s make sure all of Melbourne and all of Adelaide hear us this weekend!

I’ll see you all at the footy – We Are Port Adelaide.
