THE Port Adelaide Football Club's 2014 campaign did not end on Saturday night; whatever anyone says, there is still one more game to go.

That game is the biggest on the state's football calendar - the SANFL Grand Final.

And for Port Adelaide, when its 21 selected SANFL players don the club's traditional black-and-white guernsey resplendent with its famous and proud Magpie emblem, they will have the chance to put an exclamation mark on the end of a brutal 2014 season.

For supporters, wounds will be licked, emotions exhausted, voices hoarse after they complete the return trip from Melbourne.

For those who couldn't travel to the MCG, they'll be feeling the same after cheering at homes, pubs and more besides back home in Adelaide.

But Port Adelaide people know exactly what the SANFL Grand Final is - it's a chance for Port Adelaide to fulfill its famous mantra for a 37th time.

You know the one: Port Adelaide Exists to Win Premierships and Make Its Community Proud.

Everyone knows it - it's the covenant the club makes with its supporters and, in turn, supporters make with the club.

It's the commitment players make every day, every training session, in every game, with every breath, for the duration of their career at Alberton - irrespective of whether they play AFL or SANFL footy.

The players not selected in the Magpies side, those returning from Melbourne, the club's coaches, board, staff and volunteers will all be at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday at 2:40pm.

But most importantly, the voice and roar of all the members and supporters who have backed the entire club across the state, and across the country, will be there too.

The Adelaide Oval is as much Port Adelaide's home as Alberton is.

And for Garry Hocking, Steven Summerton, Tom Logan, Kane Mitchell, Aaron Young, Ben Newton and the entire Magpies line-up, they'll need that trademark Port Adelaide passion, and over 144 years of die-hard tradition that has filled the Oval up, that has seen it become the fortress of all that Port Adelaide stands for on the national stage this year, pushing them to perform at their best from 2:40pm.

After all, We Are Port Adelaide.
