THE Power will have a fresh look in this year’s NAB Challenge with a teal variant of its regular guernsey to be worn in three pre-season games.

The guernsey retains all the traits of its regular home and clash strips, but features a predominantly teal body with black and white ‘vees’.

It’s an exciting new addition to Port Adelaide's guernsey set and harks back to the club’s early years when a specific pre-season guernsey was used in addition to regular home-and-away jumpers.

Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas said it was important for the pre-season jumper to retain the look and feel of the club’s existing guernseys.

“The teal guernsey will only be used as our pre-season guernsey and we will always maintain our predominantly black guernsey as our home strip,” said Mr Thomas.

“The beauty about our three guernseys is that they all fit within the one consistent ‘V’ style on the front and we know our community love that design.”

Power defender Tom Jonas is looking forward to pulling the jumper on in the three NAB Challenge games against West Coast (at Norwood), Richmond (at Lavington) and the Crows (at AAMI Stadium).

“From a player perspective it’ll be provide a strong contrast on field and I’m sure our supporters will enjoy seeing us wear it across the pre-season competition,” Jonas said.

“As a playing group we obviously love our traditional all-black guernsey for our home games but we are also looking forward to wearing this new strip for the pre-season.”

Limited stock of the new pre-season guernsey is available to buy from the Power Megastore or online at powermegastore.com.au.
