PORT Adelaide supporters will be treated to their first glimpse of new recruit Paddy Ryder in action in Friday’s Bushfire Appeal night.

The 26-year-old, who arrived at the Power via trade from Essendon in October, will take part in a match simulation training on Friday at Alberton Oval.

More than 5,000 are expected to flock to Alberton with all gate takings from the night going towards the South Australian Bushfire Appeal, to help families and communities affected by January’s fires.

The match simulation will be followed by an autograph session on Alberton Oval.

Ryder, along with former Essendon teammate Angus Monfries, will not play in any AFL sanctioned games until the AFL Anti-Doping Tribunal has handed down its verdict on players facing infraction notices.

This means the pair will be unable to play in Port Adelaide’s NAB Challenge campaign, which kicks off at Norwood Oval on Sunday 8 March against West Coast, until the verdict is handed down.
