NO man likes groin discomfort, and for Hamish Hartlett a care-minded substitution gave some relief from minor soreness in Sunday afternoon's 40-point win over West Coast.

Suspected of agitating scar tissue in the groin he recently underwent surgery on, Hartlett is expected to be a short turnaround to hit the field again.

However the Power midfielder will still have scans on Tuesday according to the club's head of high performance Darren Burgess.

"We suspect his injury isn't too serious, but we're always going to take a cautious approach in pre-season when we still have a month before Round 1," Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

"So he'll have scans on Tuesday and we'll see what they show up and whether we need to take any more action to address it from there."

Hartlett was the only injury reported from the Power's opening NAB Challenge win on Sunday afternoon.

It's good news for Port Adelaide with two games still to play ahead of Round 1 on the Easter long weekend.

First-choice players Jackson Trengove and Chad Wingard are working through their rehabilitation, and Burgess is happy with their progress.

"We'll just keep reviewing these guys as they work through their rehab, like with Hamish we just work through our process in pre-season to make sure they're ready to go," Burgess said.

"We're pretty pleased with how they're looking."

Ruckman Jarrad Redden is the only player marked for assessment at training this week.
