THREE players will be available for Round 1 and Jackson Trengove and Chad Wingard will spend the next two weeks pushing to be ready for Port Adelaide’s opening game.

Hamish Hartlett, Andrew Moore and Sam Colquhoun would be ready to play this week, had the Power been scheduled to play.

Instead, they’ll need to wait at least another week to be considered for selection in the Power’s first team of 2015.

It’s good news, particularly, for Colquhoun, who has returned from an anterior cruciate ligament recovery in 11 months.

“We’re really happy for Sam, he should be fine to play Round 1, although the SANFL boys will first play Round 2, so we’ll need to wait and see where he fits,” head of high performance Darren Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“Getting back in 11 months is a credit to the way he’s worked through his recovery.”

Trengove and Wingard will spend the next fortnight honing their bodies to be in the best position to be selected to play Fremantle on the Easter long weekend.

“Both are looking good and should be right up there for Round 1,” Burgess said.

“We’ve got he added benefit of a week off, so we think they’ll be in great shape.”

Jack Hombsch and Matt White will be fine to play despite sore spots following Saturday’s 24-point loss to the Adelaide Crows at AAMI Stadium.
