TOM Jonas has been omitted from Port Adelaide’s side and Alipate Carlile will miss through injury when the Power’s final 22 for Thursday night’s game against Collingwood is released tonight.

Port’s senior coach Ken Hinkley revealed four to five changes, including Carlile and Jonas, would be made against the Magpies.

It follows from a string of disappointing losses, including by 10 points to Sydney last Thursday and Carlton and Geelong before the mid-season bye.

"We have to make some more changes,

"Tommy Jonas won't play - he's a part of our leadership group, he's a significant member of our football club, I'd trust him with everything I've got - unfortunately his form has not been as well [as is required], and he'd be the first to put his hand up and say that.

"Bobby Carlile has been struggling physically, so he's not going to play.

"There will be four or five changes that we have to make, and we do that to try and create some form.

"Also acknowledge that some blokes that we've stayed with pretty strongly probably need a break [from AFL]."

Jonas was originally set to play his first SANFL game for Port Adelaide against his old team Norwood on Saturday, but may not take the field as he manages a minor quad problem.

portadelaidefc.com.au will have Port Adelaide's team on Wednesday night at 5:55pm (ACST).
