A NARROW majority of Port Adelaide supporters want to see the return of State of Origin footy.

That’s what they’ve told portadelaidefc.com.au in the BIG PORT SURVEY, which quizzed fans on a range of topics including players, the state of the AFL and SANFL competitions, game day and more besides.

An often contentious topic, State of Origin football hasn’t been played since 1999, but there is an appetite, at least among Port Adelaide fans, to see the concept return.

Almost two-thirds of Port supporters back the return of the Big V, Croweaters, Allies and Sandgropers as part of the AFL fixture.

And what about International Rules as an alternative?

Well, Power fans certainly see the annual series between the AFL and the Gaelic Athletic Assocation as past its use-by date.

Just under 39.9% of fans want to keep the format, the rest saying it's time to ditch the international series.
