ALIPATE CARLILE will not play for the rest of the 2015 season, with his hip problem persistent enough to keep him out of the final three games of the year.

Carlile has missed since Round 15 with the injury and has been a week-to-week proposition for a return.

Port Adelaide’s head of high performance Darren Burgess says Carlile should be in a position to hit the track on the first day of pre-season.

“He’s got a slight fracture in his hip, and we tried to get him up for the end of this season but it simply hasn’t responded fast enough,” Burgess told portadelaidefc.com.au.

“We just need to wait for it to heal fully.

“He’ll be fine for pre-season, with three games to go and the nature of the injury, it makes sense for us to take time to get it right.”

Jarrad Redden and Mason Shaw will be available to return through the SANFL this week after being sidelined from the Magpies’ one-point win over Glenelg.

Redden was managed through the weekend, while Shaw was kept out by a minor ankle problem.

Andrew Moore is a chance to play against South Adelaide in the SANFL after missing Friday’s game with an ankle injury, while Jay Schulz will be pushing to be named after having a back complaint last week that saw him sidelined following the Power’s warm-up on Saturday.

Among Port Adelaide’s SANFL contract players, Anthony Biemans is likely to miss the rest of the minor round with a knee problem, but will be pushing to return in time for finals.

Robbie Young will be assessed to return from a hamstring strain through the club’s Academy team this week.
