SAM Gray’s purple patch of form over the last month has once again been acknowledged, the young midfielder judged best on ground against Gold Coast in the Wok in a Box Fans’ MVP award.

Gray had 10 clearances, eight inside 50’s and 37 possessions, taking his average disposals over the last month of football to 29 a game.

Fans cast 3,2,1 votes online each week at fansmvp.portadelaidefc.com.au and these votes are then scaled to award five votes to the player with the most votes in that round, four votes to the player with the second-most votes and so on.

Hamish Hartlett was awarded four votes, pushing the ball forward and revelling in the wet weather, putting in one of his best performances of the year with 32 disposals.

Karl Amon’s three goals, alongside his defensive work, earned him three votes, while Robbie Gray (two) and Chad Wingard (one) rounded out the votegetters.

With one round remaining, Robbie Gray has secured the Fans’ MVP Award, nine votes ahead of Chad Wingard who is safe in second position.

Captain Steven Summerton has once again shone for the Magpies, earning the Fans’ votes for best on field in the Round 19 win over West Adelaide.

Summerton led his team brilliantly all day, sparking his side in the second half when they needed a lift while also kicking five goals.

Kane Mitchell was awarded four votes, finishing with 36 possessions, 11 clearances and seven inside 50’s, ably assisted in the midfield by Paul Stewart (three votes) and Andrew Moore (two).

Sam Colqhoun rounded out the vote getters with one vote, but Steven Summerton has run away with the award, sitting on 55 votes with Tom Logan second place on 27.
