ONE of the more interesting Port Adelaide representations will be fielded in the annual Slowdown for the Little Heroes Foundation this Monday at the Adelaide Oval.

Led by senior coach David Koch, the Power will see some familiar faces return for the annual charity game for the Little Heroes Foundation as well as bringing some genuine 'star' power that mixes hardened former footballers and national and international celebrity.

Matthew Primus will be wearing the coveted No. 1 jumper, which by Port tradition means he must be the team’s captain (although no skippers have been specified).

Strangely, two of Port Adelaide’s fiercest SANFL enemies will line up for the Power - Central District stalwarts James and Chris Gowans.

portadelaidefc.com.au assumes this will fulfil the hard-edged twins' life-long desire to wear the black, white and teal.*

Brothers Darryl and Shane Wakelin will stand side-by-side in defence, while tennis commentator Darren Cahill – son of supercoach John – will also suit up.

Some of Port Adelaide’s favourite Aboriginal players will also add class to the side, with Peter Burgoyne, 'Choppy' Pickett, Eugene Warrior, Wade ‘Bullet’ Thompson and Elijah Ware running out.

A few non-football personalities will also play.

Kochie’s Sunrise colleague Mark Beretta will be lurking at full forward, while emerging tennis superstar Thanasi Kokkinakis will be wearing the No. 19 guernsey.

Meanwhile, the Crows have again taken things seriously by naming a side choc-full of ex-players.

Proceeds from ticket sales on the day go towards the Little Heroes Foundation, which raises money towards a number of initiatives that support seriously ill children.

The 16th West End Slowdown will commence at 1:40pm on Monday 5 October at the Adelaide Oval, gates open at 1:40pm with a range of family entertainment around the ground.

It is the first time the game has been played at the Adelaide Oval since 2011.
