AFTER cracking 60,000 members for the first time in 2015, Port Adelaide’s 2016 campaign is building momentum, with a new automatic renewal record.

Over 25,000 Port supporters automatically renewed their membership last week, with more than 32,000 members – over 50 percent of last year’s total figure – already signed up for 2016.

If Port Adelaide posts another total membership record in 2016, it will be the fourth consecutive season it has achieved the feat.

ALREADY A MEMBER: New draftee has been seeing Power play for last two years

Last year’s record resulted in Port Adelaide being the sixth-largest club by membership in the AFL.

Port Adelaide’s head of membership Matthew Richardson says the next important milestone for last season’s members will be the December 18 renewal deadline, which applies to all existing reserved seats, Essential Power category and reserved seat wait list members.

“It’s important members renew before the deadline in order to secure their existing package or to register for an upgrade for next season,” Richardson said.

Port Adelaide’s membership packages are among the league’s best value and most flexible.

Richardson says the club’s long term priority is to help more people experience a Port Adelaide game day.

This involved allocating 10,000 seats and standing room positions for general admission members (including three-game members) to sit in comfort with options on ground level in the old scoreboard pocket, or undercover in the Eastern and Riverbank stands.

The club is also providing general admission members priority access to upgrade into available reserved seats for popular blockbuster games, such as night games.

Richardson says there’s been a strong interest for new membership and ticketing packages for 2016 already.

“We are really excited by the number of new members joining who can see the great value in buying a season ticketed membership,” he said.

“The season ticketed membership is proving extremely popular - at just $175 for all home games it equates to less than $16 per match.

“It also provides these members with the opportunity to upgrade into daily reserved seats if they choose so it really does provide great flexibility and value.”

New members continue to come in younger age groups, reinforcing the club’s strategy to attract the next generation of football supporters.

“Young people and families can see there is something for them at a Port Adelaide game, whether it be the seating and membership arrangements or the best game day experience in Australian sport,” Richardson said.
