PORT ADELAIDE won't relocate its home to the city, following claims made on Triple M Adelaide that the club was looking to move.

Triple M's Andrew Jarman aired suggestions that Port Adelaide was in talks to relocate to a city venue on 'The Rush Hour' on Tuesday afternoon.

Port Adelaide chief executive Keith Thomas released a statement on Tuesday ruling out a move from the club's traditional home.

“The Port Adelaide Football Club categorically denies a rumour aired on radio Triple M Adelaide this afternoon suggesting the club is relocating to a city base," Thomas said.

“As it has for over 130 years the home base of the Port Adelaide Football Club will continue to be at Alberton.”

Port Adelaide first played football at Alberton in 1880, when it moved to the venue owned by local landowner and then-president John Formby when its old home at the Glanville Estate was no longer available.
